DMS Truck Lift

Scott Darnell, a C-5/6 quadriplegic, was an active athlete and excelled in his career as a fabricator, heavy equipment operator, master welder and foreman. He became a superintendent on numerous multimillion-dollar construction projects. Since his spinal cord injury he has counselled medical professionals, others with spinal injuries and their families. He has channeled his experiences and dreams into helping create important new mobility options for wheelchair-bound individuals. Scott unveiled his first DMS Truck Lift at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Three years later, at the National Mobility Dealers Association’s annual conference, he earned the NMEDA and Adaptive Driving Alliance’s “New Technology Award for Innovation in Engineering and Technology”.

How the DMS Truck Lift works

• The user first positions their wheelchair on the lift
• The lift then raises the user to the upper most door position and then rotates 90 degrees situating the user in the driving position
• The user then pulls forward under the steering wheel and into the driving position

The DMS Truck Lift enables you to drive from a truck or SUV without having to transfer from your wheelchair. You no longer have to drive only lowered floored vans. You have a choice.

DMS Truck Lift Features

• The frame, rocker panel, threshold and fuel tank are not modified.
• The proprietary door openers and closers operate by air.
• The factory door can easily be opened manually.
• Emergency backups for hydraulic and electrical failures.
