About Wolfe Mobility
Wolfe Mobility was incorporated in 2011 by Karen Wolfe who wanted to establish a company that stood out in the mobility industry. Through her years of experience working with the disabled community she wanted to make a difference; not only in the products she offered but also in the delivery method that was available. Originally Wolfe Mobility concentrated on offering persons with a disability a choice in what they drove. Delivering the vehicle right to their door and working with the customer’s local garage to ensure everyone was comfortable with the lift system was part of Wolfe Mobility’s service. That standard and commitment is still at the foundation of what they represent.
In 2014, Wolfe Mobility announced a new Home Health Care Division. They expanded their product line to include a number of unique mobility products including the BodyUp Transfer System, the ConvertaStep platform lift, the Welcome Mat ramp and the complete ICC Bath to Beach product line. Wolfe Mobility’s original plan was to have the products available solely through them. With the difference these products make in the lives of loved ones, caregivers and patients, Wolfe Mobility was thrilled when other health care providers came on board. Karen Wolfe lives in Picton, Ontario and has three, now grown, children. She has always loved working with people. While the kids were still in school she concentrated on her creative side working in advertising, book design, layout and publishing. In 2002, she started looking for something more and returned to Carleton University to finish her Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. Her parents, Clifford and Elizabeth Wolfe were manufacturing the Elaine Anne Lift, a wheelchair lift for trucks and SUVs, in Smiths Falls. They invited Karen to join their company for the summer of 2006. She never left. Karen had found her niche. Doing everything she could to give people a choice and the freedom to do what they wanted, when they wanted, became her goal. Seeing in people’s faces, how much it meant for them to drive what they wanted, made her decide that she would continue, in her father’s memory, to offer people a choice. Give her a call and make a difference in your life.
Jennifer Hewitt has lived most of her life in the small town of Picton. She drew her experience from running a preschool classroom. She has always been inspired to teach and motivate to make a difference in other’s lives. Her family has been a strong influence of inspiration, partly because her grandfather invented a vehicle modification to maintain her aunt’s independence, who had became quadriplegic in a diving accident. Her family values have always instilled making the best out of every situation and looking at the glass half-full, believing that anyone can accomplish their goals when they put their mind to it. No matter what your limitations may be, the life you want to live is at your fingertips. Freedom and independence is also in your choice of what you drive. Call Jennifer and she will be excited to help you find what Wolfe Mobility has to offer for your specific needs.
Ellyse Hewitt graduated from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario as a Veterinarian Technician. She has a dog who loves to go everywhere with her. She loves the outdoors life, camping, hiking, snowboarding and enjoys all the scenery mother nature has to offer. She originally moved to British Columbia in 2008 to practice her profession. Four years later the clinic she worked for closed and she started working full time for Wolfe Mobility. She never went back to working as a veterinary technician. She says that after she started she saw that it wasn’t corporate, monopolizing or machine. It was family, and that is exactly what she wants to keep it as. She is compassionate, caring and will do whatever it takes to help get you driving what you want to drive or become as independent as possible in your home and life.
